Hello!
There is no greater agony than carrying an untold story inside you.

Meet Mercedes

Hi, I’m Mercedes. I created Serenity Soul Therapy because I know what it feels like to carry grief, trauma, and the weight of life alone. My goal is to create a space where people feel safe to fully be themselves — without judgment, without masks, and with someone who truly sees them.

I believe healing happens through compassion, connection, and feeling supported through life’s most difficult moments. Serenity Soul Therapy is a space to breathe, process, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that deserve love, safety, and healing.

I'm glad your here!

Education & Experience

I earned my MSW in Social Work from North Carolina State University and have spent nearly 10 years working within the mental health field across a variety of settings, including integrated behavioral health, crisis work, community mental health, residential treatment, and trauma-focused care.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals navigating:

  • Childhood and relational wounds

  • Life transitions and emotional overwhelm

  • Stress within marginalized and underserved communities

My approach combines clinical knowledge with authenticity, warmth, and cultural humility. I strive to create an environment where clients feel empowered to show up fully as themselves without fear of judgment. In addition to direct practice with clients , I provide clinical supervision to developing therapist.

My Areas of Focus

My work is especially rooted in:

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Inner child healing

  • Grief and bereavement support

  • Supporting BIPOC communities

  • Women’s mental health

  • Healing from generational patterns and relational wounds

I am deeply passionate about providing culturally responsive care and creating space for conversations that acknowledge the unique emotional experiences many individuals within BIPOC communities carry.
